GOLD MEDAL for ZOMBAMA!

VOTE FOR BEASTPOP! ON QWERTEE!

Qwertee.com is a new shirt-a-day t-shirt company which seems to be the UK's version of TeeFury with a little dash of Threadless thrown in. Unlike TeeFury, Qwertee utilizes a member voting method to rate submitted designs. It looks like a great addition to the global t-shirt marketplace and community, and I've jumped aboard this train in anticipation of good things along the way.

BeastPop! has 3 designs up so far for voting, and it looks like the ubiquitous and enduring favorite ZOMBAMA will be the first of my designs printed by them. You can still vote for it anyway, if you like.
Also up for voting are the PAKKU-MAN Pac-Man/Samurai mashup design and the infamous SLAVE I RACER Boba Fett/Speed Racer mashup design. Vote for 'em both and we'll see how the cards play out. BACK IN BLACK FOR MORE BRAINS!

He's coming back! Mark your calendars, hide your meat, board up the trailer... ZOMBAMA RETURNS! On Halloween (Oct 31) ZOMBAMA will return to the site that made him famous, TeeFury! But this isn't Zombama as you remember him... he's decayed a bit more since last time and he's starting to attract more flies and maggots (and he's printed on a sinister black shirt instead of Navy blue)! Anyway, you have been warned! Tell your friends, tell your neighbors, tell your arch-enemies and those guys from the credit card companies that keep calling you and mispronouncing your last name!

COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT VIA PUMPKIN...

Somebody went and carved my Zombama design into a pumpkin. What's the procedure for suing someone for gourd-related art theft? ;)

Seriously, this is pretty impressive! Apparently it was submitted to a pumpkin carving contest held by Sideshow Collectables last year by a fellow known only as Ricky C. Ricky, if you're out there, well-done on the carving and you owe me whatever prize money you may have collected!

ZOMBAMA RETURNS FROM THE GRAVE!!

A year and a half or so ago, I did a design parodying Shepard Fairey's Obama "Hope" poster and his "style" of art recycling. The result was Zombie Obama, more affectionately known as "Zombama", and he became quite popular, making the rounds of various websites, blogs and news sites, becoming TeeFury's most popular selling design at the time, and spawning two more rounds of shirt reprints, which I still get requests for to this day. He also became heavily bootlegged, being ripped off and sold by street vendors in New York City, shirt manufacturers in the Phillipines, graphic "artists", and comic book companies.

I was recently contacted by TeeFury concerning the possibility of doing a reprint of this shirt, and I had to jump at the opportunity. I still get a steady trickle of emails from folks asking about how to get a hold of this shirt, so now's your chance! Well, not NOW, but soon...

I figured I should tweak the design a bit since I usually see room for improvement the day after I'm done with a design. This would give the folks who did get a hold of the shirt the first couple times around a sense that they got something limited and rare, plus added incentive to buy it again, too! Genius! So, I further decayed his face and added some weathering effects to the design to bolster that grungy, undead feel.

Anyway, this should be available for sale over at TeeFury soon. I will post another update as soon as I know something more concrete.
