CROC-LORD colors

I think I've got the colors where I want them. Posting a few color options, and I'm trying to decide between a simple 2-color version or a 3-color version which enhances the detail, just a bit. I don't know -- I think I like the 2-color version better, and I wanted to depart from my usual method of cluttering things up with too many colors and just let the detail of the black and white illustration bear the brunt of communicating detail. Since this was originally supposed to be a shirt design for the solidly fantastic band RED FANG (and still might be), I played around a bit with some logo placement just for fun.

CROC-LORD pencils and inks.

This design was originally going to be a submission for the recent t-shirt design contest put on by one of my favorite bands, RED FANG. Alas, deadlines and such got in the way, and paid work always takes priority over contest submissions, unfortunately. I've been working on this in bits and pieces when I've got spare time (which isn't often), but I've finally got it inked and ready to color!

DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: DRIZZ'T DO'URDEN

This was a very exciting project to work on, and I had a great time working on it. Art director extraordinaire Jon Schindehette for Wizards of the Coast (the folks that own Dungeons & Dragons) commissioned me to do some character production artwork for, arguably, their most popular character Drizz't Do'Urden, who was created by R.A. Salvatore, one of the most prominent fantasy writers in the biz. Anyway, they wanted to turn one of the designs I was working on into a shirt design for their upcoming clothing brand, so I reworked the layout and colors, and added some design and text elements, and this was the result, which they released at an R.A. Salvatore book signing. Hopefully, I'll have some news as to the greater line launch soon, and I also hope to be able to share the rest of the artwork soon.

HALLOWEIRDO: "THE HOVERING SPENK"

This posting is a bit late, but I was recently invited by J. Chris Campbell and the fellows at Wide Awake Press to contribute to this year's Halloweirdos blog, where different artist provide Halloween-spirited artwork. I decided to work up one of my old Beast du Jour sketches and give it a polish and a fresh coat of paint. He's called "The Hovering Spenk", and he's a very mischievous alien from a planet where intelligent life evolved from pumpkins. His low-grade telekinesis enables him to hover around about two feet off the ground.

This was a lot of fun to work on, and I'm going to be taking a few more of my sketchbook beasties to final illustration stage very soon.

WE BELONG ALIVE 2011

This is a reworked version of the design I created last year for Fright-Rags.com as part of a breast cancer fundraiser. They asked me to modify the design for sale again this year, as part of a more extensive fundraising effort. I completely redrew and recolored the design to distinguish it from last year's release.
Hand drawn in pen, brush and ink, colored in Photoshop.

Here's the info from Fright-Rags' website:

Last year we released this t-shirt to help a friend of ours as she battled a very aggressive breast cancer. The sales of this shirt helped us raise over $7000 to help her and her family through this trying time.

The outpouring of support and messages we received when we put this shirt out was incredible. I had not realized how many of our customers had been affected by this deadly disease. So this year we decided to bring back the We Belong Alive shirt design to help raise money and awareness for breast cancer research.

HOW LONG WILL THIS SHIRT BE AVAILABLE?
As a result, we are allowing pre-orders for this shirt until Sunday, October 23. Since it is a pre-order item, I ask that you allow 4-5 weeks for it to ship. If we have any left over after shipping our orders, we will make those limited quanitites available on the website until they sell out.

HOW MUCH MONEY ARE YOU DONATING AND WHERE IS IT GOING?
60% of the proceeds from the sale of this shirt will be donated to METAvivor (www.metavivor.org) to help the research of metastatic breast cancer.

PRE-ORDER HERE AND HELP SUPPORT A GOOD CAUSE!

Original color suggestion rejected in favor of a more stark black and white color scheme.

ZOMBAMA'S REVENGE!

Hope? Change? President Obama, are you feeling okay?
This undead president is only interested in eating the flesh of the people! Attach whatever political statement you'd like to this design. All I'm trying to say is that I have fun with ridiculous parodies of self-important "street artists". That's all.

‎"ZOMBAMA'S REVENGE" shirts are now up for preorder at my BeastWreck shop! This will be the FINAL PRINTING of this design, and I will be taking preorders for one week before sending the order to the printers! If you missed out on this shirt in the past, or just want to buy this new, updated version, don't delay!

4-color design soft discharge screenprinted (no thick plastisol) on black Gildan women's Softstyle 4.5 oz 100% ringspun cotton, 1-color BeastWreck logo printed on back.

HAM!

Who doesn't love ham? I mean... y'know, besides vegans, vegetarians, jews, muslims, oddly self-aware pigs, and that kid who used to live next to me whose mother was trampled to death by a renegade swine. Even IF you don't like ham, you've gotta admit it makes a pretty snazzy shirt icon, no? Of course, if you wear the shirt, you may find yourself drooling uncontrollably every once in a while due to that little subliminally delectable piece of meat resting comfortably on your chest. Mmmm... ham...

It's probably my greatest shirt design to-date! I saw Threadless was having a polo contest, so I carved out (see what I did there) a couple hours and baked up (again) this little glazed goodie. Please give it a high score so I can wear my very own Ham polo shirt (and so can you)! Follow this link and go vote kindly, please.

CHARLIE'S FINAL HUMILIATION

Zombie-Lucy doesn't settle for jerking the football away from poor, gullible Charlie Brown at the last second -- she just jerks his legs off!

This idea popped into my head a couple weeks ago, and I can't even remember what sparked it, but I knew I had to get it finished and out there before someone beat me to the punch. I've had one or two folks comment already about how they wanted Lucy to be more gored-up and decomposed, but in trying to stick as closely as possible to Schultz' style and the old-school traditional zombies (think early Romero) I really think that would needlessly complicate things and futz-up the simplicity of the cartoon.
Anyway, here it is in all its glory. I've submitted it to a couple of shirt-of-the-day sites, so we'll see if anyone's interested in printing it. If not, I might have to do it myself.
